Character Name: Ekko
Series: Arcane
Age: 18
From When?: Episode 7, after the bridge explosion. Instead of surviving it, he dies.

Inmate Justification: He has killed people, and he is literally the leader of an entire group of people fighting against the laws of two major cities: Piltover and The Undercity/Zaun, as it's later known. He's shown multiple incidents of being willing to leap into attempted murder, despite not having the heart to kill someone he used to be close to. Ekko's got a somewhat warped idea of what's right and what's wrong (though arguably the least warped of all the main groups in this series), and he's willing to resort to both violence and lawbreaking to make his plans happen.

Put simply, he's very ~vigilante~ justice!

Also, not to say Wardens can't have trauma, but boy do have have trauma. Trauma that is highly damaging both to himself and to others around him in the ways he's desperately tried to cope - everything from distrusting former cherished friends to outright violence.

Arrival: Against his will

Abilities/Powers:
Combat: Borderline super-human agility (he can evade Jinx’s bullets), durability, speed, and strength all work very well with his extensive experience with fighting.
Leadership: He's demonstrated impressive skills in coordination, organization, and the necessary drive (and charisma!) for leading an entire group of people.
Inventor/Genius Intellect: He managed to impress the likes of Heimerdinger - a former leader of Piltover, who has considerable knowledge as an immortal being. He develops the Z-Drive (while collaborating with AU Powder and Heimerdinger) by inverting Jayce's (a praised inventor of Piltover) Acceleration Rune. He's able to grasp the scientific formulas of Hextech, completely from scratch, while trapped in an alternate universe. Hextech was never created in said alternate universe.
Art: Ekko is very skilled in sketching, painting, drawing and street art.
FUTURE ABILITY-
Time Rewind: By pulling on the Z-Drive's chain, Ekko can manipulate time by rewinding the world itself, returning him to a previous position (4 seconds earlier) and granting him a "do-over". Attempting to rewind more than 4 seconds brings harm to his surroundings (no harm comes to Ekko himself).

If there's ever an event or a canon update, and he gets his hands on the necessary equipment, this could be nerfed so that there's fewer "rewinds" available.

Inmate Information: When he was very young, his closest people were Benzo (adoptive father), Vander, Vi, Mylo, Claggor, and Powder.

Watching Benzo be murdered by one of Silco's people (who looked/acted like a total monster at the time) quite possibly was the most traumatic moment of his life. And he was only around ten or eleven when he witnessed it. Then, not long after that, he lost even more people - that is to say, all of the people he cared about either died or disappeared almost immediately after the traumatic loss of Benzo.

Ekko's life, after that, boiled down to him fixating on freeing everyone from both Piltover and The Underground. He wanted - no, he needed - to create a place where there wouldn't be so much violence, pointless slaughtering, or a requirement to follow the laws of Silco or those up at the top. This led to the creation of The Firelights. His group came to focus almost entirely on sabotaging Silco's shipments of something called Shimmer. Shimmer is a very dangerous drug that enhances the physical and mental capabilities of its users, granting them heightened strength, durability, and speed. The cost of such power, however, is a shorter lifespan on top of being horribly addicted to the stuff.

It's not enough to give people what they need to survive, you have to give them what they need to live.

Frankly, Ekko has all the makings of a heroic figure. He has the goal in mind, the drive, the almost correct morals. Of all the leaders in that part of Runeterra, Ekko does fight the hardest to give people a life that's free of violence and other terrible things.

Unfortunately, his guilt-ridden mindset leads him to be reckless, abrasive, and even cruel (to those he considers an enemy) at times. He does have a soft side, and there's quite a lot of potential for him choosing a much better path (he comes very close on his own). But his tendency to shut people out, for fear of getting too close, stems from his ingrained belief that he will probably lose them anyway, if he isn't the one to die first.

Additionally, due to his learning quite early on of the dealings of upsiders' military with Silco, coupled with his own personal betrayal of learning Powder was with Silco willingly, he's cultivated a very deep distrust, and even fear of others. Just as an example, he fights with and kidnaps Vi - someone who he absolutely admired as a child and considered nothing short of family - and has a bag put over her head, leaving her blinded for several minutes before he has her handcuffed to a post to interrogate her.

When he does eventually meet the Powder of the alternate universe, he shows a lot of anxiety and jumpiness. It makes it clear that he is outright terrified of Jinx, and possibly traumatized by the bridge explosion (who wouldn't be?), but he never gets a chance to heal from that event. Instead of healing, he lets himself fall for that version of Powder, and that is very likely a moment of Replacement Goldfish Syndrome happening.

Path to Redemption: Ekko has trauma that he never gets a chance to healthily deal with and work on. His time on the Barge could be a great opportunity for him to heal, if he's given the right tools and nudges in the best direction for it. So, put simply, he'd do best with someone capable of both tough love and endless patience. As an example, someone similar to Xie Lian or Yunlan would be a fantastic warden for him.

Ekko, in canon, gets along very well with someone who's lived an incredibly long life; Heimerdinger is just learning how to stop fixating on the past, when they first meet, and yet the pair click incredibly well. Despite the massive age difference, they are able to teach one another a lot. That is the kind of dynamic Ekko would thrive in - feeling like there's balance between them, in the form of him being able to teach the person something. Whether it's technology-related or just teaching the other person how to focus a little more on the here and now.

As a side note, it would be a good idea if someone monitored him and Jinx closely. So they don't encourage potentially damaging mindsets in one another. If someone could sit them both down and talk them through better thought patterns and maybe help them work on their guilt, trauma, and anxiety? That could make a world of difference.
